1. Introduction
These Specialist Terms apply to users who create and sell parenting guides on Parent School. By applying to become a specialist, you agree to these terms in addition to our general Terms of Service.
2. Becoming a Specialist
2.1 Application Process
- Submit an application through the platform
- Provide credentials, expertise, and background information
- Admin review (typically 3-5 business days)
- Approval or feedback for improvements
2.2 Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Relevant expertise in parenting, child development, education, psychology, or related fields
- Ability to provide quality, accurate content
- Compliance with all platform policies
3. Content Creation
3.1 Content Standards
All specialist content must:
- Be original or properly licensed
- Provide genuine value to parents
- Be accurate and evidence-based where applicable
- Be clearly written and well-organized
- Not contain prohibited content (see Terms of Service)
3.2 Content Ownership
- You retain ownership of your content
- You grant Parent School a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content
- You can remove your content, but existing customer access must be maintained
- You warrant that you have all necessary rights to the content
3.3 Prohibited Content
- Medical diagnosis or treatment recommendations requiring professional licensure
- Dangerous, harmful, or illegal advice
- Plagiarized or copyrighted material
- Misleading claims or false credentials
- Promotional content for third-party products without disclosure
4. Pricing and Revenue
4.1 Setting Prices
- You set your own guide prices (minimum €5, maximum €500)
- Prices must be reasonable for the content provided
- Platform reserves the right to require price adjustments for quality concerns
4.2 Revenue Share
Standard Split:
- 80% to Specialist
- 20% to Parent School platform fee
Example: For a €50 guide sale:
- You receive: €40
- Platform fee: €10
4.3 Launch Special: Commission-Free Period
🎉 New specialists receive 3 months commission-free!
- For the first 3 months after approval, the platform fee is 0%
- You keep 100% of your earnings during this period (minus payment processing fees)
- The promo period starts from the date your specialist application is approved
- After the promo period ends, standard 20% platform fee applies
- You can see your promo status and end date in your dashboard
Note: This promotional offer may end for new applicants at any time, but existing promo periods will be honored.
4.4 Payment Processing
- All payments are processed through Stripe
- Stripe fees (~2.9% + €0.30) are deducted before the revenue split
- Refunds result in deduction from your earnings
5. Payouts
5.1 Payout Schedule
- Monthly payouts on the 1st of each month
- Minimum payout: €20
- If below minimum, earnings roll over to next month
5.2 Payout Methods
- Bank transfer (SEPA for EU)
- Must provide valid payment information
- Payout details must match your verified identity
5.3 Payout Holds
Payouts may be held if:
- Pending refund disputes
- Suspected fraud or abuse
- Terms of Service violations
- Missing or incorrect payout information
6. Specialist Responsibilities
6.1 Content Quality
- Maintain high-quality, accurate content
- Update content as needed to keep it current
- Respond to user questions or feedback professionally
- Correct errors or inaccuracies promptly
6.2 Customer Support
- Optional: Respond to user questions about your guides
- Platform handles technical support and refunds
- Specialists are encouraged to engage with users for better satisfaction
6.3 Compliance
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Pay any required taxes on your earnings
- Maintain professional conduct
- Report any issues or concerns to platform admins
7. Platform Rights and Moderation
7.1 Content Review
- Platform reserves the right to review all content
- Content may be removed if it violates policies
- Specialists will be notified of removals with reasons
7.2 Account Suspension
Accounts may be suspended or terminated for:
- Repeated policy violations
- Low-quality or misleading content
- Fraud or abuse
- Violations of Terms of Service
8. Marketing and Promotion
8.1 Platform Marketing
- Parent School may promote your guides on the platform
- We may feature your content in newsletters or social media
- You grant us permission to use your content for promotional purposes
8.2 Specialist Self-Promotion
- You may promote your guides externally
- You must direct sales through the Parent School platform
- Cannot offer direct sales to bypass platform fees
9. Taxes and Legal Obligations
9.1 Tax Responsibility
- You are responsible for all taxes on your earnings
- Parent School does not withhold taxes
- You may receive tax documents as required by law
- Consult a tax professional for your obligations
9.2 VAT (EU)
- If you are VAT-registered, inform us
- Platform handles VAT collection from customers
- Your payout is your share after VAT
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Your Content
- You retain all intellectual property rights to your content
- You can use your content elsewhere (multi-platform is allowed)
- You must ensure existing customers retain access if you leave
10.2 Platform Tools
- Any tools or features provided by Parent School remain our property
- You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute platform features
11. Refunds and Customer Satisfaction
- Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy
- Refunded sales are deducted from your earnings
- High refund rates may trigger content review
- Focus on quality to minimize refunds
12. Termination
12.1 By You
- You can stop selling guides at any time
- Existing customer access must be maintained
- Outstanding payouts will be processed
12.2 By Platform
- We may terminate specialist status for violations
- You'll be notified with reasons
- Outstanding earnings (minus refunds) will be paid
13. Changes to Specialist Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of specialist features constitutes acceptance.
